Bulls are amazingly agile for their bulky size. This one whips around to punish the cowboy who was on his back just seconds ago. For purchase info click here.

Ready and Willing

Horses put up with a lot from their humans. This pretty little sorrel is ready to work and seems to be saying, "Come on, Boss, what are we waiting for?"

This is an oil that has been in the works for awhile now. With a show deadline approaching, I finally got it in gear and finished the painting...

"Heads Up! The Mini-series

This is the first of a new series I'm calling "Heads Up!", focusing on and exploring the expressive eyes, ears, necks and heads of horses. What a huge world that is!

I'm calling them "Mini's", because they are painted in on 6 x 6" canvas.

Lanky Cowboy at the Rodeo

I love the excitement and action of rodeo, but I also pay attention to the sideline activities of fans and contestants, looking for painting opportunities. I started to paint a much larger oil of this one, which I have abandoned for now, seems it lost something in the translation from the smaller size. I think I would almost have to use a palette knife to get the same feeling I have here, something else I have yet to try! For purchase info click here.

Hereford at the Open Gate

I enjoy painting Hereford cattle because of their intense red color offset by white markings. The newborn calves are especially pretty with their sparkling white faces.

Big, Black Longhorn

Longhorn cattle are so cool to paint, they have many different colors and of course, the horns are so unique. Each one seems to be an independent character on its own...maybe that's one reason why they are such an icon of the West. Click here to bid.
